The Sourdough Soul: An Intimate Baking Masterclass
Sunday, April 26th | 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM | $150 per person
Master the most rewarding craft in the culinary world. This 3.5-hour deep dive is limited to just six students, ensuring you get the hands-on guidance needed to conquer wild yeast. We’re demystifying homemade sourdough bread and exploring how wild bacteria and yeast create that iconic sourdough tang and airy crumb. We will learn to feed your starter, work together on the rhythmic stretch-and-fold of bulk fermentation, to shaping and even how to use discard. This is a journey into the heart of slow-fermented bread. It’s light, social, and designed to turn your home kitchen into an artisan bakery.
The Experience
Tasting Table: Enjoy a relaxed tasting of our signature house sourdough, straight from the oven, paired with hand-made cultured butter and jam from local fruit.
Full Cycle Bread Making: We will start from the beginning and move through each stage of sourdough bread making at home, all in order, so you go home confident that you can recreate it yourself
The Art of the Discard: While our dough rests, we’ll whip up a batch of crispy, gourmet sourdough crackers so no part of your culture ever goes to waste.
What You’ll Learn
Fermentation Science: How temperature and time act as your most important ingredients.
Hands-On Technique: You’ll get your hands in the dough, mastering the essential stretch-and-fold method and the delicate "shaping" phase that gives sourdough its structure.
Some Sourdough Ease: The internet likes us to believe it is impossible to master, but the fundamentals are quite intuitive once you get your hands on
What You’ll Take Home
Heirloom Starter: Your own active sourdough culture housed in your own starter-keeper jar.
The Ready-to-Bake Loaf: A shaped loaf resting in its own professional banneton basket, ready for its final overnight cold-ferment and a fresh bake in your oven tomorrow morning.
The Baker’s Blueprint: A complete guide with instructions to ensure your future loaves are always perfection.
